Treating PTSD with Medical Cannabis, My Experiences.
By Dr. Alex Yazhbin, M. D.
I have treated patients with PTSD from a variety of sources, military, sexual, and childhood trauma amongst others. These patients often suffer from anxiety, depression, insomnia, anorexia, nightmares and flashbacks to name a few.
I tailor treatment to the patients’ symptoms but give patients freedom to titrate the medication to therapeutic benefit. Those with heavy amounts of anxiety, I generally advise to start with a 4:1 CBD: THC ratio to alleviate neuropsychiatric symptoms stemming from PTSD.
All individuals who have come back for follow up have noted an improved control and in many cases near resolution of symptoms. These individuals come from all walks of life and have been able to get their lives back on track.
I called their clinic as soon as I got my patient id #. Booking the appointment is quick and easy. I like that they ask me questions and make sure my condition is qualified and i have all the required paperworks before sending me to their clinic. Consultation took about 20 mins then i got my medical marijuana approval the same day.
They gave me a compassionate discount on my appointment. Waiting for my ID # from the commission took days but this clinic is patient with me and assisted me until I was completely certified.
I made some research about medical marijuana and found it really effective for patients where the traditional method of treatment did not work. It helps a lot in pain management with very little side effects compared to those pain meds
