Get Your PA Medical Marijuana Card in 4 Simple Steps

Step 1: Book an Appointment

Schedule an appointment to be evaluated by Pennsylvania Department of Health Medical Marijuana approved practitioner. If you are unsure about the qualification, give us a call and one of our compassionate staff will be happy to help you. Once you made an appointment, go to the Pennsylvania Department of Health Medical Marijuana Program to register and obtain a patient ID number. If you are unable to do this, our team will help you with the registration.

Step 2: Medical Marijuana Evaluation

During your appointment, you’ll speak with our experienced MMJ Doctor for 10 to 15 minutes who will review your medical records. At the end of the consultation, you will receive an email from the state that you are now certified and may proceed in ordering your MMJ card.

For patients suffering from anxiety disorder and/or PTSD who does not have supporting documents showing the diagnosis are welcome in our practice.

Step 3: Pay for your Card

Log in back to your PADOHMMP account and pay $50 for your MMJ card. Discounted rate is offered by the state for those who participate in the Medical Marijuana Assistance Program. Once you are paid, the state will mail your card within 2 to 3 weeks.

1. How much is the evaluation cost?

It is $200 for initial evaluation and renewal is $150. We offer discounted rates if you pay your appointment ahead of time. Veterans also get a discount.

2. Does depression qualify in PAMMJ program?

While anxiety disorder does qualify, depression is not a qualifying condition in the PA MMJ program.

3. Is the appointment in person or through video call/telemedicine?

All appointments for medical marijuana card is telemedicine.

4. Does the evaluation cost include the mmj card?

After you are approved by our medical marijuana doctor, you can pay your card by logging in to your PADOHMMP account. Cost of the card is from zero to $50 depending on your eligibility.

5. I want to apply for a medical marijuana card. How do I start?

6. Do you perform drug testing as part of the evaluation process and to keep the card active?

No, we do not do drug testing to evaluate you for medical marijuana.

7. I don’t smoke, how can I use medical marijuana once I got certified?

Medical marijuana dispensaries in PA have other forms like tinctures, vaporizers, topicals and tablets/capsules.

8. How long will I receive my card?

After paying for your medical marijuana ID card, you’ll receive it by mail within 7 to 10 business days.

9. I have been suffering from anxiety but I don’t have a record showing it. Can I still be evaluated for the program?

If you are unable to obtain your records or have no official document showing anxiety, our office also offers mental health evaluation.

10. Do you take insurance?

Currently, medical marijuana is a Schedule 1 substance and insurance companies do not cover it. We’ll be happy to provide you receipts if you want to try to be reimbursed by your insurance company for this evaluation.

11. Can I grow my own weed if I have a medical marijuana card?

It is illegal to grow or cultivate marijuana plant even if you have a medical card which includes having it for personal use. Growing weed even without the intention of selling it is a felony.

12. Can I smoke marijuana in public if I have a card and bought it from a medical dispensary?

In Pennsylvania, it is illegal to smoke medical marijuana in public or private places. Only patients with medical marijuana card are allowed to consume it in forms like vape, pills, oils, tinctures and topical cream and must be used in private properties.

13. I am traveling by plane to a different state, can I bring my medical marijuana?

According to Transportation Security Administration, marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by FDA. (See the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, Pub. L. 115-334.)  TSA officers are required to report any suspected violations of law to local, state or federal authorities.

TSA’s screening procedures are focused on security and are designed to detect potential threats to aviation and passengers. Accordingly, TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other illegal drugs, but if any illegal substance is discovered during security screening, TSA will refer the matter to a local law enforcement officer.
